Attendance Matters

Are You Talking to Me???

YES!!!!! You! I'm talking to you!

Attendance laws and seat time requirements are set by the state South Carolina and the School District of Oconee County. At WHS, we offer morning make-up sessions, not as a punishment, but as an OPPORTUNITY to earn back the seat time missed and be awarded credit for your classes.

DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS OPPORTUNITY!!!

Sessions are held Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8-8:45 in the upstairs computer lab (Coach Wimphrie's classroom).

Students missing more than the allowed days and not attending morning make-up sessions may not receive credit for their class.
Don't be late be on time for class

Be On Time!!!

Students getting 5 or more tardies in a class will be assigned LUNCH DETENTION instead of detention during FLEX.
  • Students and parents will get an email notification if/when a student is assigned. It is YOUR JOB to check your email regularly.
  • Students will get their lunch and then report immediately to lunch detention. Students must be present by the following times in order to be counted present.
Lunch A: 12:25
Lunch B: 1:10
Lunch C: 1:55

Let’s get to school and class ON TIME!!!!

No ID = Lunch Detention

Students are expected to wear their ID everyday. Students going over the allowed number of temporary IDs (5 each nine weeks) will be assigned lunch detention. After a student receives 2 detentions, they will be assigned ISS, multiple days of ISS, and eventually OSS. Please help us by reinforcing the importance of keeping up with and wearing IDs
***ID violations restart each nine weeks***
***IDs should be visible and worn around the neck or on a belt ID

Senior Rafting Trip FAQ
What to Wear:
  • River booties can be rented at Wildwater for $5 per pair.
  • Tennis shoes, crocs or sandals with heel straps. (NO flip-flops).
  • Don’t wear cotton—it stays wet and makes you cold. Wear quick-dry fabrics like fleece, polyester, or Under Armour-type shirts.
  • Dress in layers: swimsuit/quick-dry clothes under, fleece or synthetic sweater on top if it’s cool.
Can I be in a raft with my friends:
  • We will do our best! Each raft can hold 6 students.
What to Bring:
  • Towel and a full change of dry clothes (including dry shoes).
  • Plastic bag or dry bag to carry wet stuff home.
  • Optional: Money; snacks and drinks are sold inside Wildwater
What time should I pick up my child:
  • Bus will return around 4:00-4:30pm on Friday (it is difficult to know the exact time we will return as some river trips take longer than others)
