FFA/4H Dairy Cattle Evaluation

Walhalla FFA members recently competed in the FFA/4H Dairy Cattle Evaluation Contest as a part of the annual Clemson Spring Dairy Show.
The FFA team placed 3rd in this year’s event! Team members include (from left to right) Reese Daugherty, Alex Holgersen, Clay Laura, and Brooklyn Iseli. Brooklyn received 3rd High Overall Individual in FFA as a result of her efforts.
In addition to the FFA team, we also had a 4H Team. Members included Jewels Simpson and Luke Duncan.
In the Junior level division of the 4H contest, Walhalla Middle FFA member, Sara Iseli (and her 4H team members) placed 1st in:
- High Overall Reasons Individual
- High Overall Junior Individual
- High Reasons Junior Team
- High Overall Junior Team
We also would like to congratulate Brooklyn Iseli for two honorable mentions.
- Brooklyn placed 3rd overall in the 4H “Let’s Talk Dairy” Competition where she delivered a public speech on the importance of milk and the dairy industry.
- She also received the Clemson Spring Dairy Show T. Ed Garrison Scholarship in the amount of $1,000. Brooklyn has been a dedicated 4H member since her childhood. Her passion for the Dairy Cattle Industry and Youth Livestock Programs is evident. This scholarship is just a small way of recognizing her commitment and dedication to an important South Carolina industry and to agricultural education youth programs.

Attendance Matters

Attendance laws and seat time requirements are set by the state South Carolina and the School District of Oconee County. At WHS, we offer morning make-up sessions, not as a punishment, but as an OPPORTUNITY to earn back the seat time missed and be awarded credit for your classes.

DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS OPPORTUNITY!!!

Sessions are held Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8-8:45 in the upstairs computer lab (Coach Wimphrie's classroom).

Students missing more than the allowed days and not attending morning make-up sessions may not receive credit for their class.
Tardies

Tardies

Students getting 5 or more tardies in a class will be assigned LUNCH DETENTION instead of detention during FLEX.
  • Students and parents will get an email notification if/when a student is assigned. It is YOUR JOB to check your email regularly.
  • Students will get their lunch and then report immediately to lunch detention. Students must be present by the following times in order to be counted present.
Lunch A: 12:25
